 Gary Burghoff today. SPRINGFIELD, MO (ANS) -- Gary Burghoff, the actor best known for his role as Cpl. “Radar” O’Reilly in both the movie and television series M*A*S*H, is 62 and long retired to private life. In a rare recent interview, Burghoff spoke about his spiritual comittment, love of family and the paintings he is doing now, to Canadian radio talk show host Drew Marshall on JOY 1250.
Burghoff said, “Without the Word, I’m rootless, I have no foundation. Whenever things seem bleak, I go back to that source. If art is a personal reflection of the beauty you see in life, I want to go to the source, so I go to wildlife. I do the same thing with spiritual beauty.”

Joseph Henry Burnett is not a Rock Superstar whose name is on everyone's lips, but he's been having a large but quiet impact on popular culture. What are his claims to fame? He's a singer and song writer who toured with Bob Dylan's legendary Rolling Thunder Revue in the mid-1970's and later produced groups like Counting Crows, The Wallflowers, BoDeans, Los Lobos, Bruce Cockburn and others.
More recently, he produced the music for films like "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" and the Johnny Cash biography, "Walk the Line."

Christian Mercy Church in Laredo, Texas, just across the Rio Grande from Mexico, is filled with immigrants and their children, but they are not waving Mexican flags and demanding the rights accorded to U.S. citizens. About 20% of the congregation may be undocumented, but 100% of the people are praying for a solution to a difficult and divisive problem. They want to know what would please God.
