ImageThe Chicago Tribune reported on March 12, 2006 that homosexual activists made a stop at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. Two dozen of them were promptly arrested for trespass, but of course they knew they would be. It's all a part of the homosexual propaganda crusade.

The homosexuals were on what they termed a nationwide "Equality Ride."

They want everyone to believe their lifestyle is normal, when in fact most Christians understand that they suffer from a malady. If they saw it the way we Christians do, there would be no controversy at all. We could all work together for a cure. Indeed, many homosexuals are being made whole every day, and you can read about it at Exodus International or People Can Change.  If one homosexual can give up their unhealthy lifestyle, then they all can.

But, as it is, there are radicals on both sides of the issue. So-called Christians from Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, KS are doing a disservice to both Christians and homosexuals when they picket with their "God Hates Fags" signs.  Their behavior is reprehensible.  But at the same time, homosexuals are generating hate every time they call a person a "homophobic" just because that person does not agree with their lifestyle or social or political agenda.

But besides being a publicity stunt, the "Equality Ride" is an attempt to ride the tail of the Civil Rights Movement. Black leaders have spoken out against this move by homosexuals.

The notion that a sexual preference malady could be considered a civil right is so bizarre, it had never entered my thinking. The issue came home to me at a dinner I attended a few months ago. A woman there said she was a "civil rights attorney," but was reluctant to share her legal victories in that noble pursuit. It's wasn't until later, when I did some research, that I discovered that the only "civil rights" she was interested in was those of lesbians.

Granting any such rights to homosexuals, just because they are homosexuals, is a slap in the face to anyone who values the real Civil Rights Movement, or historical American values in general.

Remember, if homosexuals get the rights they seek, pedophiles, and those who practice bestiality and necrophilia deserve the same treatment under law. After all, it was only back in the early 1970s that homosexuality was listed in the American Psychiatric Association's (APA) "Diagnostic and Statistics Manual" as an "uncompleted gender identity seeking after its own sex to replace what was not fully developed."  Psychiatric journals were full of treatment artices on the subject, and psychiatrists made a living treating the malady.

They were also treating pedophiles and people with other sexual aberrations, so why did they stop treating homosexuals?  It was because of homosexual political action, not scientific research.

Homosexuals began raiding the meetings of the APA, and, through a combination of lobbying and intimidation, homosexuality was deleted as a sexual deviation in 1973. There was no scientific basis for this action, and only one-third the APA's psychiatrists got to vote on the issue. A fact that many homosexual activists would like to hide is that many distinguished psychologists and psychiatrists continue to research and treat homosexuality.

Christians do not need to be angry at homosexuals, or be unkind to them in any way. But we certainly don't have to agree that a sexual aberration is the same as a "civil right."  Homosexuals are not Blacks or Jews, they are just lost souls living in a sex saturated fantasy world.  There is nothing noble about their present political action, however.  It takes more than a bus to make a civil rights crusade. They do not deserve the elevated status they seek; they are, however, deserving of Christian compassion and prayers for healing.
