MURRIETA, CA (ANS) -- Left Behind Games, the company that produces Christian video games based on the books made famous by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins, is including an insert in every box that tells purchasers about the Eastern European Outreach (EEO) child sponsorship program.

The game makers latest release, "Left Behind: Eternal Forces" is flying off store shelves, and Jeff Thompson, EEO Executive Director, expects that 200,000 families will learn about the EEO ministry to at-risk children as a result of the inserts.

Left Behind Games CEO Troy Lyndon heard about EEO, and along with his wife, Robilyn, decided they wanted to raise awareness about the plight of at-risk children in Russia and Ukraine by including the inserts in the game package. The company has a game programming team in Ukraine, so they have firsthand knowledge of the needs there.

Lyndon has decades of experience in video game development including products such as Madden Football, Batman Returns, Defender of the Crown, and Street Fighter. He has also been involved in ministry-related projects for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Campus Crusade for Christ, Tyndale House Publishers and Biblesoft.

Jeff Thompson said, "The Lyndon's included EEO out of hearts of love, and we're grateful for their involvement. Those who purchase the game will have the opportunity to know that spiritual battle is not something that just happens on a TV screen, but that it's happening every day in the lives of at-risk children."

Eastern European Outreach is now in its 26th year of ministry. Thompson has just released a new book, Leaving the American Sector (Theatron Books) which chronicles the story of his ministry from the time he was a Bible smuggler behind the Iron Curtain during the Soviet era at age 21, his seven years of preaching in Russian youth prisons, his work in Kosovo following the war there, and his continuing outreach to orphans and other at-risk children in Eastern Europe.
